We stock all kinds of fast growing background aquarium plants that will create some great depth in your tanks. Jungle vallisneria is one of my favorite background plants. It takes a second to get used to a new aquarium and might melt back, but will reward you with tall, lush growth once it gets established. We also carry many Large Amazon Swords which will quickly fill up the background of your aquarium. I also stock TWO types of Crinum. Both Crinum Natans and Crinum Calamistratum. Both have a unique look with their crinkly leaves. Both Water Wisteria and Water Sprite will grow quickly and fill in your background nicely. Its full name is Cryptocoryne crispatula var balansae. Unlike Crypt Spiralis, \u003cem\u003eCrypt Balansae\u003c\/em\u003e is a little more sensitive. Like most Crypts, it might melt back in your tank when you first recieve it.(It hasn't melted in my 220 yet but that doesn't mean it can't happen) Make sure you plant your C. Balansae in a good substrate with plenty of nutrients available.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has been my experience that \u003cem\u003eCrypt Balansae\u003c\/em\u003e is a heavy root feeder, so make sure you at least have some root tabs. It's ruffled, taller leaves give it a nice contrast in your planted aquarium My buddy Bryan demanded that I start stocking this plant, I told him I would under the condition that he wrote the write up, but I had to get it up here... It can be a center piece plant in a small aquarium or as a filler plant for larger tanks. From beginner to expert, crypt balansae is an outstanding addition to your aquarium. If you are searching for a way to have the look of a ruffle onion but don’t have the room in a small tank, Crypt. Balansae is the way to go. \u003cem\u003eCrypt Balansae’s\u003c\/em\u003e leaves are narrow. In my tank I have never had a leaf wider than ¾ of an inch. The leaves reach up to 8 or 9 inches and have a wrinkled appearance that add awesome contrast to smoother plants in the tank.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn a dirted tank the \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eCryptocoryne balansae\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e will take off within a couple months. Generally a slower grower than the more common bronze or green crypts, this plant is worth having in your tank. Whether in gravel, dirted, or just sand, Cryptocoryne balansae will grow. The better the substrate though, the faster the growth. All around this is a killer plant for every level of aquatic enthusiasts. Cryptocoryne balansae in time can spread and produce an amazing mat of dense vegetation. Generally used in the middleground of a tank it adds depth and a splash of something different to every tank. With a beautiful dark lime green color and thick sword like leaves, Anubias Congensis is an outstanding plant for the mid or back ground of your tank. This may very well be the plant you’ve been lacking for the perfect tank. Standing taller than \u003ca style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'San Francisco', 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif; font-size: 1.4em;\" href=\"https:\/\/dustinsfishtanks.mom\/products\/anubias-minima\" title=\"Anubias Minima\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eAnubias Minima\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e, Congensis can reach heights of twelve to fourteen inches in a well lit tank. If your tank is not lit to well, that’s not a problem; Congensis will keep shorter leaves and grow slower in a dimmer tank. That being said beginners to experts can find success with this killer Anubias species. Each leaf that is\u003cspan style=\"color: black;\"\u003e produced\u003c\/span\u003e points to the top of the tank and stays vertical at all times. Other Anubias species with blade-like leaves, such as Minima or Frazeri, usually keep the flat surface towards the light, Congensis will not. If you want a plant to fill in a dark spot in the tank or if you’re looking for a splash of brighter green in the tank, Congensis will make a great addition. Like other variants, \u003cstrong\u003eCongensis\u003c\/strong\u003e can handle an array of water parameters; from slightly brackish with a high ph to softer water with ph of 7.0. Personally I have found that the roots of Congenis are thicker than most other Anubias species I have kept, which makes it more difficult to move them around the tank than a smaller plant like Nana. Once planted though, you will not be disappointed. No matter the lighting, substrate, or your level of knowledge in the aquarium hobby, \u003cem\u003eAnubias Congensis\u003c\/em\u003e is an easy to keep, hardy plant. I can't always get these different species of Anubias, if you are thinking about getting some kind of different Anubias, DO IT, cause I can't promise when I'll have them in stock again. \u003cspan style=\"color: red;\"\u003eRemember when planting Anubias to only plant the roots! I would love to tell you this is an easy beginner plant. It is not. The thing that shocks me about Crypt Spiralis is how when we got it in, it didn't melt like most crypts. NOTE: That doesn't mean it won't melt in your tank, but it will grow back. I first fell in love with Jungle Val when I put it in my high tech tank. (high lights\/ dirt and CO2) It grew to the point where it was out of control.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere were so many runners popping up that I had a hard time removing it when I wanted it out of my tank. Jungle val also does great in a beginners tank without dirt. I have seen it in low light tanks with hardly any sort of nutrients in the substrate. (If you want to have a great substrate, check out our dirt substrate kits) I have seen Jungle val grow in just plain sand even. Although I keep it in my 40 high with only one strip and natural sunlight where it grows straight up and down, no side action… It also is great to break up an aquascape. It grows wide leaves that attempt to cover the waters surface. My angels loved this and your fish will like it as well. This is also beneficial for newly hatched fry as well as they can hide in the big roots. Water Sprite can also be rooted down just like a normal plant. It doesn't have the hardiest roots so you'll want to get it down in there pretty good. It has done better in dirt. (Shocker) BUT is still growing in plain gravel. The stem has a tiny bit of fluffy fuzz to it as well. We have found it takes a week or so to really get rolling, once settled in it grows pretty quickly for a plant of this kinda color.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt likes a tad more light but we have found it doesn't mind less light, it just wont settle in as fast. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike Bacopa Yellow Flame, I wouldn't trust this plant with Cichlids, but I would try it with other larger fish.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne nice thing about all Bacopa is that they don't mind being planted in straight gravel, though they do better with a nutrient rich base.
