Ideally, you want to have \u003cem\u003eAmazon Swords\u003c\/em\u003e in a planted tank that has a large amount of nutrients available in the substrate. Amazon Swords are heavy eaters and will prefer this setup.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSmall Amazon Swords\u003c\/strong\u003e are $8 and are anywhere from 2-5 inches. If you are ordering a few small ones we might thrown in ones that are slightly smaller than 2 inches but we will give you an extra plant. We grow them in house underwater. (though I haven't kept cichlids with it in a long time so I am not saying that your fish won't destroy it) There are two things about \u003cem\u003eAnubias Nana\u003c\/em\u003e that you have to keep in mind when putting it in your aquarium. The first rule with Anubias of any kind is that it is very sensitive to temperature shock. Acclimate the plant like you would a fish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe second thing about Anubias is that you want to tie it to a rock or drift wood and NOT put the plant down in the gravel of your tank. ( I let my Anubia find its own way down to the gravel, but don't put it there on its own.) You’ll get about 7 leaves on each piece. Crypt Spiralis has thicker leaves and grows taller. It also has a tendency to shoot off runners all over other parts of your tank. \u003cem\u003eCrypt Spiralis\u003c\/em\u003e makes a great background plant. The thing that shocks me about Crypt Spiralis is how when we got it in, it didn't melt like most crypts. NOTE: That doesn't mean it won't melt in your tank, but it will grow back. If you have never kept a Crypt before, you should start with Crypt Spiralis....great hardy Crypt! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eCare Scale of 1-10:\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1.5  The .5 is only because it might melt back if what we are selling has not fully converted to underwater growth... It has done better in dirt. (Shocker) BUT is still growing in plain gravel.
