(though I haven't kept cichlids with it in a long time so I am not saying that your fish won't destroy it) There are two things about \u003cem\u003eAnubias Nana\u003c\/em\u003e that you have to keep in mind when putting it in your aquarium. The first rule with Anubias of any kind is that it is very sensitive to temperature shock. Acclimate the plant like you would a fish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe second thing about Anubias is that you want to tie it to a rock or drift wood and NOT put the plant down in the gravel of your tank. ( I let my Anubia find its own way down to the gravel, but don't put it there on its own.) You’ll get about 7 leaves on each piece. I wouldn't put it up if I wasn't using it successfully in my 220. IRON IS AWESOME. If you have been watching my videos for any length of time you know i love IRON. It is a MICRO Nutrient- SO YOU DON'T Need a bunch of it. (over dosing Iron will cause cloudy water, algae and potentially kill your fish if you go too crazy. SO DON'T OVER DOSE!) Something more important than what Iron (Fe) is used for is how iron is absorbed by the plant. Iron can exist in a number of different energy states but basically it occurs most frequently as Fe\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 8pt; line-height: 115%;\"\u003e3+ \u003c\/span\u003e(ferric)this is useless to plants as they can’t absorb it, plants need iron as Fe\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 8pt; line-height: 115%;\"\u003e2+ \u003c\/span\u003e(ferrous), Iron occurs at this state in more acidic conditions therefore it might be an idea to keep your aquarium on the more acidic side if possible.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo what is iron used for? Well lots of things but the most important use is in the production of chlorophyll, now chlorophyll itself doesn’t contain iron but it can’t be made without it. If you need reminding what chlorophyll does, it basically helps a plant absorb energy from light. In short- Plants wouldn't grow without chlorophyll, and chlorophyll does better with IRON. SO GET SOME IRON. Directions. One good pump of iron is like 4ml. A 10 gallon tank only needs like 2ml of Iron every other day. (every tank is different but that's a good starting point) In a 55 I would start with one big 5ml squirt out of the gate every other day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNOTE: DON'T OVER USE THIS STUFF!!!!\u003c\/strong\u003e Do your Squirt and put it away- out of reach of your childern. We will still need to COVER this layer...more on that in a bit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOk- So you have to understand that the \"Dirt\" we use has to go through a process.  We have to make it so the dirt does NOT destroy your aquarium.   We do the work for you.   I personally have prepared EVERY Dustin's Dirt Pack.  It's kind of fun too, I get to help get our customers get a better aquarium from the ground up.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou don't need to source all of the ingredients. You don't need to be standing around  at Home Depot trying to figure out which kind of dirt to buy. You don't need to figure out how to add clay to the mix or how to increase the calcium levels.  You don't need to worry about how to put it all together. If you select ONE Small \"DDP\" You will need the equivalent size amount of gravel\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you grab ONE LARGE DDP, you will need gravel enough for the same amount as ONE LARGE DDP or more.    \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e If you are doing a 125 Gallon aquarium and you grab 5 Large DDPs. YOU WILL NEED 5 (Or more) bags of gravel of the equivalent size.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGot it?  This is NOT a \"Dump it in and it's ready product.  If you pour a bag of this in your aquarium, make a mess and kill your fish. don't come crying to me. WE WARNED YOU.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe DDPs work best with a bare bottom empty tank it. (I do NOT recommend trying to add dirt to an existing tank with fish already in the tank. Think if you were the fish?). Get a tub, siphon the tank water into a tub and add the fish temporarily into the tub. (They will be fine- how do you think they go to the pet store anyway- worse conditions than this!)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlace the DDP to the bottom of the bare aquarium.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e***Cover the dirt with Equal portions or more of gravel*** I recommend an inch or more of gravel on top of the DDP dirt mix. When in doubt add MORE gravel.
